- What does a boiler service cost?According to Which? an average boiler service can cost from £72. From our point of view it will depend to some extent on where you are based. The best thing to do would be to give us a call to arrange a visit and we can give you an exact quote so you know what is and isn’t covered and a final cost. As we regularly have engineers in the Wimbledon area, we can often reduce costs for you.
- How often does your boiler need a service?Ideally you should have a boiler service every 12 months to keep in top condition. Not only will this keep your boiler running at it’s most efficient, it will potentially save money on emergency call outs. With your boiler clean of dust and oxidisation, it will run at its best and keep your heating bills lower. If we spot any problems during the service, our heating engineers will discuss it with you and come up with a plan, cheaper than waiting for it to fail and needing a rapid response.
- Is it worth getting a boiler service?As above, absolutely it’s worth getting a boiler service! Part of the boiler service is to clean all the internal components to try and prevent future problems from happening. Dust and oxidisation can cause erosion in your boiler destroying the parts. By keeping it clean it reduces those possible failures before they happen. Secondly, having all vents, fans and pipes cleaned will keep the boiler running efficiently, reducing your bills and gas usage.
- What should be done on a boiler service?We check the gas emissions, and make sure the boiler is safe to use. We check for leaks (gas and water) and clean all pipes, flues and internal components. We are Gas Safe registered and are regulated to be able to work on gas boilers.
- How long does a boiler service take?It depends on when your last boiler service was. We can usually conduct a full service within 1-2 hours. Location can sometimes cause delays, if the boiler is in a difficult to reach position, or if it is particularly dirty. If we find any faults, we may be able to repair them on the spot (parts depending).
